Ash lodge is a beautifully presented, single-storey bespoke wooden lodge on a small park of ten lodges ideally situated beside the River Clun. The park in Clunton is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of Shropshire’s Clun Valley. Immaculate throughout and providing spacious, contemporary accommodation. This wonderful Shropshire lodge, near the town of Clun, sits in a superb position next to the river.
The site is in a private location with the lodges arranged around the loop of the river. The site is accessed down a short lane from the small village of Clunton which has a great pub, serving local ales and lovely home cooked food. Check it out on www.crowninnclunton.co.uk. Lots of great walks can be found in the area, many starting off from the lodge itself, so no need to drive first.
Ash Lodge is perfect for a romantic retreat or provides a peaceful hideaway for those seeking a relaxing holiday in an idyllic setting. This lodge, one of the larger ones on the site, has been thoughtfully decorated and is set entirely across the ground floor.
The Lodge includes a bright and airy double aspect lounge with fantastic views down the river and across the fields to the wooded hills. There are two leather sofas to relax on to enjoy those views or to settle back in front of the flat screen television. The bedrooms are generously proportioned, with one containing a double bed and the other twin beds, all with luxury, sprung memory foam topped mattresses. Both bedrooms contain floor to ceiling wardrobes with sliding mirror doors, providing plenty of storage space. Connected to the main bedroom, with separate access from the hall, is a large bathroom. This contains a large walk in shower and a separate bath for relaxing in, toilet and wash hand basin.
Outside there is a large decking area to the side and back. This is great for relaxing on either to eat at the table next to the river or lounging on the comfortable patio furniture, and is also ideal for sunbathing or chilling out in the evenings catching the late evening sun. We’ve had several keen ornithologists who have sat and patiently recorded a very large number of different types of bird including woodpeckers and herons and not forgetting of course the local geese, ducks and guinea fowl wandering around the site. Some people have even been fortunate enough to see an otter.
Shropshire has many interesting places to visit, including historic towns like Ludlow and Shrewsbury which are close by.
