Fontygary Leisure Park

Fontygary Leisure Park is a family-run caravan park ideally situated right on the gorgeous Vale of Glamorgan Heritage Coastline. Set on a clifftop location with gently sloping grass fields and views over the channel to Somerset.

Discover some of the plentiful leisure facilities on the park. There’s tidal bowling as well as a 25-metre pool with waterslide and splash pool. Relax in the family entertainment lounge with bar, café and kids’ activity areas, and regular events from family shenanigans to wedding fairs. A good selection of food is served up at the Shoreway bar. Meals are offered all day in both inside and outdoors amongst the Glamorgan coastal views. The Shoreway is also the venue for evening entertainment including cabaret, discos and talent competitions, and for main sporting matches on the big screen.

The Glamorgan Coast runs for 14 scenic miles from Aberthaw to Porthcawl, westwards via cliffs, coves and stunning sea views. It’s doable by foot or bike; if you thirst for more knowledge on the coast, its critters and its history, the Glamorgan Coast Heritage Centre is half an hour’s drive away at Bridgend. Barry Island 15 minutes’ drive east is home to a handsome sandy beach as well as the rides and amusements of Barry Island Pleasure Park. For those her enjoy walking, venture along the Wales Coast Path on its detour loops around Barry Island towards Llantwit Major.

The Welsh Hawking Centre and its 200 birds of prey is 10 minutes drive away, towards Barry.
